Part 3: Flying over Antarctica

Going from Christchurch in New Zealand to McMurdo in Antarctica involves a 5 hour flight on a C-17 Globemaster III military aircraft. The leg from McMurdo to the South Pole is serviced with LC-130 Hercules planes and takes three hours. I was allowed into the cockpit on each flight and enjoyed spectacular views of Antarctica. Some samples are provided below.
