April 2006: Palmer Station, Antarctica

In April 2006, I travelled again to Palmer Station, Antarctica, to take care of the NSF's UV spectroradiometer there. Following my trip to the South Pole in January, this was my seventh journey to Antarctica. The Updater is split into two parts, click on the links below!

Part 1: Travel South
Travel from Punta Arenas, Chile, to Palmer Station through the dreaded Drake Passage and the maze of island surrounding the Antarctic peninsula.
Part 2: At Palmer Station
Impressions from a wild and beautiful place.
